A short film by Unconventional, a live experiential production company, about how an event comes together, told through an imagined brief for a fictional event. Two people meet and agree to work together, and their team plans the site, the marketing and the sponsorship. The stage is drawn, then built: the survey, the ground works, cranes, scaffolding, towers, motors, video, sound and light. Guests fly in, arrive at a mountain-top venue, and a huge crowd fills the field. Finally the Unconventional logo is built, lowered into place and lit. Behind the closing title, a loop: the camera flies into the U of the logo and down a long truss, past the words Concept, Culture and Technical reality. The truss bursts apart and five short scenes play, each named: Keynotes, a microscope that looks into a keynote stage; Activations, a button that bursts into a build; Experiential, a headset whose lenses look onto a projection-mapped tower; Live Entertainment, a drummer looking out over a crowd; Sports, a swing that opens onto a public viewing. The picture folds to a line of light, and the truss pulls back into the U.
